Indian Navy invited online applications for enrolment as Sailors for Matric Recruit (MR) Musician 02/2021 Batch commencing in October 2021. All eligible 10th pass unmarried male candidates having Musical Ability can apply online for the Indian Navy MR Musician Vacancies through the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. Indian Navy Musician Recruitment Sailor MR Bharti 2021-2022 as online application form, salary, eligibility criteria, physical, selection process, important dates, notification etc is given below.
Indian Navy MR Musician Bharti 02/2021
Pay Scale (Salary) – Rs 14600 per month during training and Rs 21700-69100 (Defence pay matrix level 3) plus MSP @ Rs 5200 per month plus DA (as applicable) after completion of training.
Total Number of Vacancies – 33 Posts
Eligibility Criteria – Eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification, musical ability, proficiency and experience for Indian Navy Musician is as follows:
Age Limit – Candidate should be born between 01 Oct 1996 to 30 Sep 2004 (both dates inclusive). No age relaxation is permissible.
Educational Qualification – 10th Pass (Matriculation) from the Boards of School Education recognized by Ministry of Education, Govt of India.
Musical Ability – Candidates should have proficiency in Aural Aptitude for music with accuracy in Tempo, Pitch and singing one complete song. Should also have practical skill on any instrument of Indian or foreign origin with proficiency in tuning of instrument, matching unknown notes with instrument, prepared piece, sight reading of Indian Classical/ Tabulature/ Staff Notation, performance of Scale/ Raaga/ Taala and basic theory of Indian or International music.
The candidates would be required to perform with expertise on one or more instruments such as Keyboard/ String/ Wind instruments or any other instrument of Indian or Foreign origin. Candidates performing on Indefinite Pitch Instruments such as Jazz Drums set, Brass Drum, Snare Drums, Side Drums, Cymbals, Non Chromatic instruments such as Bugle & monotone instruments used to produce only one note or drone will not be eligible for recruitment.
Musical Experience Certificate:
1. Candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical music on Wind Instruments will require a musical experience certificate from any recognized musical Institute or organization of repute.
2. A certificate of minimum Initial Grade from International Boards such as Trinity College of Music, London or Royal School of Music, London will be mandatory for candidates performing western notation or western music on Wind Instruments.
3. Other candidates will be required to submit certificates of participation/ awards presented at various events.

Indian Navy Musician Selection Process and Physical
Indian Navy MR Musician recruitment process will consist of Music Screening Board, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical examination. Due to COVID–19 Pandemic, approximately 300 candidates will be called for Music Test and PFT. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Music Test on the basis of their music certificates. Order of precedence will be as follows:
1. Degree in music
2. Diploma in music
3. Other graded certificates
4. Certificates of Competitions
5. Awards
6. Participation
7. Experience
8. Music as a subject/ paper in matriculation is not valid
The Music selection will be tentatively conducted in September-October 2021 at INS Kunjali, Mumbai (exam centre). Admit Card (Call letter) for eligible candidates indicating date, time and place for Music Screening Test will be uploaded on the official website tentatively by September 2021. Verification of age, education qualification, music certificates and musical ability along with physical fitness of candidates will be assessed during Music Screening Board.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – The PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 07 Minutes, 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Physical Fitness Test will be conducted for all candidates appearing for the Music Test. Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
Thereafter, a merit list will be prepared from all the candidates who qualify in Music Screening Board in all respects and PFT depending upon available vacancies. The Merit list will be declared through the official website. All selected candidates will have to undergo Enrolment Medical Examination at INS Chilka (Odisha) tentatively scheduled in the month of October 2021.
Medical Standards:
Height – Minimum 157 Cms
Chest – Minimum 5 Cms expansion
Weight – Proportionate to height and age
Visual Standards:
Without Glasses – Better Eye: 6/60 and Worse Eye: 6/60
With Glasses – Better Eye: 6/9 and Worse Eye: 6/24
The candidates must be in good physical and medical health free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat. Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to examination. Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist and back (dorsal) part of hand/reverse side of palm. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptable and candidate will be banned from recruitment.
The training for the MR Musician 02/2021 Batch will commence in October 2021 with 15 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka in Odisha. Thereafter the trainees will be sent to Mumbai for 26 weeks specialised training in Military Music.

Online Application Form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and desirous candidates are required to Register (if not registered already) and Submit online application form for the Indian Navy MR Musician Recruitment on the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 02 August to 06 August 2021. Keep ready scanned copies of color photograph with blue background, 10th mark sheet & certificate, music certificates, domicile certificate etc required documents to upload with the online form.

After successful registration of online form take a copy of the system generated application form for further requirements. You’ll have to carry all original certificates, music certificates, domicile certificate, mark sheet and call letter (admit card) at the time of Music Screening Test.
It is mandatory to submit a negative RT-PCR laboratory report of COVID-19 from Govt/ ICMR accredited laboratory by candidates at the time of recruitment test (Report should be dated maximum 96 hours prior to reporting date).
