All eligible sportsmen of Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Diving, Football, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Squash, Swimming, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weight Lifting and Wrestling discipline can apply for the IAF Sports Quota Vacancies in the prescribed application form. Indian Air Force Sportsmen Bharti Program 02/2021
Pay, Allowances and Promotion – Rs 14600/- per month during training and Rs 26900 per month including Military Service Pay (MSP) plus DA (as applicable) on completion of training. Allowances such as Transport allowance, CPMA, LRA, Children Education Allowance etc are also admissible as applicable from time to time.
Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunities to become Commissioned Officer also exist for those Airmen who qualify the prescribed exam later during their service career.
Latest Update – Due to Covid-19 pandemic, Selection trial for recruitment of Outstanding Sportsmen scheduled from 26 April to 28 April 2021 followed by Medical Examination from 04 May to 05 May 2021 in Delhi & NCR has been postponed. Unmarried male Indian/ Nepalese citizens are eligible to apply for the IAF Sportsmen Recruitment Rally scheduled to be held at New Willingdon Camp, Air Force Station New Delhi, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi – 110003. Specific Event/ Position/ Category wise sports discipline are listed below.

Athletics (100M/ 200M, Long Distance, Shot Put, Javelin and Pole Vault), Basketball (Centre and Forward), Boxing (52 Kg and +91 Kg), Cricket (Fast Bowler and Top Order Batsman), Diving (High Board), Football (Forward and Mid Fielder), Handball (Pivot and Left Back), Hockey (Forward and Defender), Kabaddi (All Rounder, Left Cover and Raider), Squash, Swimming (Free Style Long Distance), Volleyball (Setter and Attacker), Water Polo [Right Wing (Left Hand Player), Goal Keeper and All Rounder], Weight Lifting (55 Kg, 67 Kg, 89 Kg and 102 Kg), Wrestling (Greco Roman 60 Kg, 63 Kg, 72 Kg, 87 Kg and Free Style 74 Kg, 86 Kg, 125 Kg)
Eligibility Criteria (Age, Qualification and Medical Standards)
Age Limit – Candidates should be born between 18 July 2000 and 30 June 2004 (both days inclusive). Lower age limit of date of enrolment is 17 years and Upper age limit of date of enrolment is 21 years.
Educational Qualification – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent exam pass in any stream from a recognized Central/ State Board of Education.
Sports Qualification – In the Sports/ Games discipline, candidate should have represented the Country in Junior/ Senior International level OR represented the State/Units in Senior National Championships/ Inter University Championship OR represented the State in Junior National Championship and National School Tournament conducted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
Sports Qualification (Cricket) – Candidates who have played BCCI Trophies U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, Dilip Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or have higher participation are eligible to apply.
Physical and Medical Standards:
Height – 152.5 Cms
Chest – Minimum 5 Cms expansion
Weight – Proportionate to height and age
Visual Acuity – Unaided visual acuity of 6/6
Colour Vision – CP-II
Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately and should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
Body Tattoo – Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/ reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom traditions of their tribes may be considered. However, right to decide on acceptability/ unacceptability of the individual rests with the selection centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs (close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the tattoo.
Selection Process and Physical Fitness Test
Eligible candidates whose application form is found to be in order will be issued Admit Card or Call letter (with date and venue) by Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) for selection trials. The recruitment process will consist of Verification of eligibility, Physical fitness test (PFT-1 & PFT-2), Sports skill trials and Medical examination as follows:
Verification of Eligibility – Educational Certificates, Documents, Consent Form (signed by parents if candidate below 18 years of age) and passport size colour photographs will be scrutinized/ verified at the recruitment venue.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) 1 – After the verification of eligibility, candidates will be allowed for PFT-1 consisting 1.6 Kms run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) 2 – Candidates qualified in PFT-1 will be allowed for PFT-2 consisting 10 Push-ups in 01 Minute, 10 Sit-ups in 01 Minute and 20 Squats in 01 Minute.
Sports Skill Trials – Candidates qualified in PFT-1 & PFT-2 will be called for sports skill trials.
Medical Examination – Candidates qualified in PFT and Selection trials for the game applied for will be called for medical fitness test by the Air Force Medical Team at SMC, Air Force Station Palam (New Delhi) as per IAF medical standards.
Candidates declared medically fit by the medical board will be in the provisionally selected list of candidates. On finalization from the provisionally selected list of candidates, the finally selected candidates will be enrolled in IAF Group Y (Non-Technical Trades) as an outstanding sportsman depending upon available vacancies.

Selection Trials Date (Schedule) and Required Documents
The selection trials (Recruitment rally) for Outstanding Sportsmen in Group Y Non-Technical Trades will be held from 26 April to 28 April 2021. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions are required to report at No. 2 Airmen Selection Centre, outside Exit Gate, Air Force Station New Delhi as per the date and time mentioned in admit card. After initial document verification the PFT-I and PFT-II will be conducted at New Willingdon Camp, Air Force Station New Delhi, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi – 110003.
The selection trials for IAF Sports Quota for all the discipline will be conducted as per the Selection Programme (Schedule) below:
26 April 2021 – Document verification, PFT-I and PFT-II
27 April 2021 – Sports Specific Trials for those candidates who have cleared Document Verification, PFT-I and PFT-II
28 April 2021 – Sports Specific Trials for the candidates who are shortlisted during previous day trial
04 and 05 May 2021 – Medical Examination of the recommended candidates
Documents Required at Selection Centre:
1. 07 copies of un-attested recent (taken not more than one month before, from the date of publishing of the advertisement notification) passport size colour photographs (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
2. Original Matriculation Mark sheet with four self attested copies.
3. Original and four self-attested photocopies of Matriculation Passing Certificate (required for Date of Birth verification).
4. Original and four self-attested photocopies of Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent Examination Passing Certificate and Marks Sheet.
5. Original Certificates of Sports Achievements with four attested photo copies.
6. Character Certificate (in Original).
7. Sports Kit.
8. Original and four Self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate (for candidates discharged from Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Any other Government Organisation).
9. NOC in original and four self-attested photocopies from the employer for candidates presently serving in any government organization (if applicable).
10. Consent form for physical fitness test and medical tests.
IAF Sports Quota Application form and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates will have to submit the application form for the Indian Air Force Sports Quota Recruitment on A4 size paper only as per the prescribed format by downloading from airmenselection.cdac.in through the direct link below. You will have to scan the duly filled application form, matriculation certificate, marks sheet & certificate of educational qualification and sports achievement documents in one single pdf file. Thereafter, send the application form completed in all respects (signature, left hand thumb impression and photograph) along with the following required documents through one single email only on the official Email ID firstname.lastname@example.org.
Documents Required to Attach with Application:
1. Attested copy of 10th Pass certificate (for the proof of date of birth).
2. Attested copies of Educational certificates and Marks sheets.
3. Attested copies of relevant Sports certificates.
4. Three unattested passport size colour photographs taken with holding a Black Slate in front of his chest with his name, date of birth and date of photograph clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters (taken not more than 01 month before the publication of recruitment notification). You will have to paste 01 photograph on the form and carry the other 02 photographs along with the application form.
Application sent by Ordinary/ Registered/ Speed Post/ Courier will not be accepted. Candidate will have to submit only one application in response to this recruitment notification through E-mail only. Candidature of candidate submitting more than one application or re-submitting same documents through different E-mail IDs will be cancelled.
