The vacancies of Postmaster (BPM/ ABPM) and Dak Sevak will be filled division-wise in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts. Post Name, Job Profile and Allowance (Salary)
Branch Postmaster (BPM) – The Branch Post Master job will include managing affairs of Branch Post Office, India Posts Payments Bank (IPPB) and ensuring uninterrupted counter operation during the prescribed working hours using the handheld device/ smartphone/ laptop supplied by the Department.
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) – The Assistant Branch Post Master job will include all functions of sale of stamps/ stationery, conveyance and Delivery of mail at doorstep deposits/ payments/ other transactions under IPPB, assisting Branch Postmasters in counter duties using the handheld device/ smartphone supplied by the Department.
Dak Sevak – The Dak Sevak job will include all functions of sale of stamps and stationery, conveyance and delivery of mail and any other duties assigned by Postmaster/ Sub Postmaster including IPPB work in the Departmental Post Offices/ RMS.
Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) or Salary:
BPM – Rs. 12000 (Minimum TRCA for 4 Hours/Level 1 in TRCA Slab) / Rs. 14500 (Minimum TRCA for 5 hours/Level 2 in TRCA slab)
ABPM/ Dak Sevak – Rs. 10000 (Minimum TRCA for 4 Hours/Level 1 in TRCA Slab) / Rs. 12000 (Minimum TRCA for 5 Hours/Level 2 in TRCA Slab)
Uttarakhand GDS Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process
Age Limit – 18 to 40 years as on 23 August 2021 (relaxation in upper age limit as per Govt rules).
Educational Qualification – 10th Pass from a Board recognized by the State/ Central Govt with passing marks in Mathematics, Hindi and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects).
Computer knowledge is mandatory and you must have Basic Computer Education Certificate of minimum 02 Months (60 Days) issued by any recognized Computer Training Institute. The Computer Certificate can also be submitted to the Engaging authority at the time of appointment if got selected.
GDS Selection Procedure – Candidates will be selected for the post of Dak Sevak/ ABPM/ BPM on the basis of higher percentage of marks in Class 10th. In case the marks list contains Grades/ Points, marks will be reckoned by taking conversion of Grades and points with the multiplication factor (9.5) against the maximum points or grade as 100. No weightage will be given for higher educational qualification.
The selection will be made as per the automatic generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidates online submitted applications. You can check the declared Merit list/ Selection list and GDS Result status on the website using your reference (registration) number or name. In case of selection you will get an SMS on your provisional selection on the prescribed date. Final selection or appointment will be based on verification of educational certificates and other documents by the concerned Engaging authorities.
Application Fees and Head Post Offices in Uttarakhand
General, EWS and OBC candidates are required to pay Rs 100/- as application fee. The fee can be paid after the registration process at any Head Post Office or through online mode using Credit Card/ Debit Card and Net Banking facility. SC, ST, Female and PwD candidates are not required to submit the fee.

Eligible male and female candidates will have to submit online application form for the Uttarakhand GDS Bharti Vacancies through the website www.indiapost.gov.in or www.appost.in/gdsonline/ from 23 August to 22 September 2021.
Online Registration – Candidates will have to register himself/ herself in the portal with the following basic details to obtain the Registration Number:

Required Documents – Keep ready scanned copies of the following required documents as per the permitted file size in jpg/ jpeg format to upload with the application form:
1. 10th Class Marks sheet/ Certificate (Max 200 Kb)
2. DOB Certificate, if DOB not available in 10th Marks sheet (Max 200 Kb)
3. Computer Certificate (Max 200 Kb) (it can also be submitted to the Engaging authority at the time of appointment if got selected)
4. Caste/ Community Certificate, except General category (Max 200 Kb)
5. Certificate of Disability for PH Candidates (Max 200 Kb)

- Thereafter, Pay the Application fee using the registration number to get your Fee ID (SC, ST, Female and PWD candidates are not required to pay the fee).
- Now open the Apply Online link to complete the remaining steps such as filling of application form, uploading of documents and printout of application.
- In case you have forgotten the Registration number or fee ID, then you can retrieve it with the help of Forgot Registration page.
After successful registration of online application take a printout of online form for reference. The printout of online form or any other documents are not required to send to the department.
