CISF Tradesman Selection Procedure, Physical and Exam Pattern

CT Tradesman Selection Procedure
Tradesman recruitment tests will be conducted by the CISF at respective Sectors/ Recruitment centers. Candidates whose application forms are found to be in order will be issued admit card through the website After verification of eligibility at recruitment center, candidates will have to undergo different stages of recruitment process as follows:
1. Height Bar and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Firstly, candidates will go through the Height Bar Test. Then candidates qualified in Height Bar Test (HBT) will go through the PET (Race). PET will be of qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.
Race - 1.6 Kms Race within 6.30 minutes

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates qualified in HBT & PET will have to undergo Physical Standard Test (PST). Physical Standards (Height, Chest & Weight) for Constable Tradesman (Barber, Boot Maker, Cook, Carpenter, Electrician, Mason, Mali, Painter, Sweeper, Plumber and Washerman) will be measured as follows:
Gen/ SC/ OBC Candidates - 170 Cms
ST Candidates - 162.5 Cms
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha etc - 165 Cms
Gen/ SC/ OBC Candidates - 80-85 Cms
ST Candidates - 76-81 Cms
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha etc. category - 78-83 Cms
Weight - Proportionate to height and age

3. Documentation
Candidates qualified in PET/ PST will be allowed to appear for checking of original documents. In this stage candidates will have to produce all original documents/ certificates in proof of details as given in the application form. Educational certificates, Date of birth certificate, Domicile certificate, Experience certificate (if any), SC/ST/OBC certificate, Discharge certificate (for Ex-Serviceman), Relaxation certificate (for Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha etc), Photographs, ID proof etc documents will be required for verification.

4. Trade Test
Candidates qualified in PET, PST & Documentation will have to go through the respective Trade Test, which will be qualifying in nature.

5. Written Examination
Candidates qualified in the PET, PST, Documentation and Trade Test will be allowed to appear in the Written Test.
Written Exam Syllabus/ Pattern - CISF Tradesman written exam will be of 02 hour duration and will consist of 100 OMR based objective type questions (01 mark each). The question paper will be set both in Hindi and English. The Question Paper will comprise of questions on:
1. General Awareness/ General Knowledge
2. Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics
3. Analytical aptitude and Ability to observe & distinguish patterns
4. Basic knowledge of English/Hindi

6. Merit List
After the written exam, Trade and category wise merit lists will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the written exam.
Minimum cut off marks for selection:
General category - 35% Marks
SC/ ST/ OBC/ Ex-Servicemen category - 33% Marks

7. Medical Examination
Finally, candidates will be called for Medical Examination on the basis of written examination merit. The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical fitness as per Medical Standards. Eye Sight should be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without wearing of glasses. Candidates should not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins and squint in eyes. Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect.
